PDF Reader & Editor: Vida, also referred to as “Vida PDF Tools,” “the app,” “we,” “our,” or “us,” is an offline-first PDF reader, scanner, and document utility.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is processed when you use the app.

1. Documents, Images and Scanned Content

The app accesses only the PDF files and images that you select through Android’s file picker.

When you use the scanning feature, the app uses your device’s camera to capture document images.

Core features are designed to process your files locally on your device. These features include:

• Reading and searching PDF files
• Merging and splitting PDFs
• Rotating and removing pages
• Converting images to PDF
• Adding watermarks
• Applying password protection
• Scanning documents
• OCR text recognition

The app does not automatically upload your PDF documents, scanned images, or OCR text to our servers.

2. Camera Permission

Camera permission is used only when you choose the document-scanning feature.

Captured images are processed to create or improve PDF documents. You can deny or revoke camera permission through your Android device settings. If permission is denied, the scanning feature will not work.

3. App Preferences and Purchase Status

The app may store the following information locally on your device:

• App settings and preferences
• Recent-document references
• Feature settings
• Premium entitlement or purchase status

Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card details.

4. Advertising

The free version of the app may display advertisements using Google AdMob.

Google and its advertising partners may collect or process information such as:

5. Optional Cloud Backup

An account is not required to use the app’s core PDF tools.

If you choose Google Drive or another storage provider as a backup or export destination, your selected file will be transferred to that provider. The file will then be governed by the privacy policy of the selected provider.

The app may also offer optional Firebase Authentication and Firebase Storage backup.

If you voluntarily sign in and upload a document, Firebase may process:

• Your account identifier
• Authentication information
• Uploaded PDF documents
• File names
• Network and technical metadata

Cloud backup is optional and is not required for local PDF processing.

6. How Information Is Used

Information is processed only when necessary to:

• Provide PDF reading and editing features
• Scan documents and recognize text
• Convert and protect PDF documents
• Complete backups requested by you
• Remember app settings
• Verify Premium access
• Process purchases through Google Play
• Display and measure advertisements
• Maintain security and prevent fraud
• Diagnose technical failures
• Meet applicable legal obligations

We do not sell your PDF documents, scanned content, or OCR text.

7. Third-Party Services

Depending on the app version and enabled features, the app may use:

• Google ML Kit for on-device text recognition
• Google Sign-In
• Firebase Authentication
• Firebase Storage
• Google Drive
• Other Android document and storage providers selected by you

Files created or processed locally remain on your device or in the destination selected by you until you delete them.

• Uninstalling the app

Documents uploaded to Google Drive, Firebase Storage, or another provider are subject to that provider’s storage and retention policies. You can delete uploaded documents using the relevant provider’s controls.

Advertising, billing, diagnostic, and security records retained by third-party providers are governed by their respective privacy policies and legal requirements.

10. Security

The app uses Android platform protections and limits file access to the documents selected by you.

However, no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Password protection can help secure supported PDF files, but users are responsible for safely managing their documents and passwords.

11. Children’s Privacy

The app is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not specifically directed to children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Advertising and consent behavior may be restricted according to the app’s Play Console audience configuration, applicable law, and Google’s policies.

12. Your Choices

You may:

• Deny or revoke camera permission
• Choose which files the app can access
• Avoid optional account and cloud-backup features
• Manage advertisement personalization through Android or Google settings
